Snowed In Snowy Wintery Nails

Happy Caturday My Friends!!!!!

Hope you have all had a good week and are doing good.  I am alright.  Last Friday into Saturday we had our first official blizzard or snow of any sort for that matter this Winter and it was a bitch!!!  We got 30.2" of that beastly terrible white stuff and I was snowed in until this past Tuesday morning when I was finally able to get my car out and make it to work.  It was so much snow and there's still so much snow out there, what a mess it was.  My outside awning/shade structure/porch also died during the storm, it collapsed cuz' the snow got too heavy on it and Casey was out removing snow all weekend and I just couldn't get it cleared off fast enough, ugh!!!  I might have him try to rig it back together for now until we can get a new one, it sucked tho', my poor "porch"!!!  My back is still paying from all that damn shoveling too, but, at least it's supposed to warm up this coming week so it should melt a lot of this thankfully.  My sister and I are having hay delivered also for the horses tomorrow and that's going to be loads of fun putting away in the snow, grrrrrrr.......

But anyways, onto my nails.  I've had snowflakes, penguins and polar bears on my Winter nail to do list so decided what better time to start my Winter themed nails than during our first storm, so, I decided to do snowflakes for my snowed in nails.  Here you go, both my snowflakes and my penguins and polar bears.  Hope you like them :)

For my snowflakes I started with a base of Essie "Find Me An Oasis" and stamped the flakes using Born Pretty plate QA58 and Winstonia plate W120 and OPI "Eurso Euro" and two Kleancolor no name metallics.  I then put a coat of China Glaze "Fairy Dust" on my stamped nails and Sally Hansen Extreme Wear "Splash" on my glitter accent nails and then did a coat of a Melly Mix on the rest.   I like the way these turned out, but, that glitter sucked, too much base and it made bubbles in the glitter, oh well, such is life!!

Find Me An Oasis by itself, such a perfect Winter blue!
Then a few days later after I got all dug out I did some penguin and polar bear freehand nails.  I started with a base of China Glaze "Be Bright Back", the glitter was Sinful Colors "Mamasita" and I used China Glaze "White On White", China Glaze "Liquid Leather" and Sally Hansen Extreme Wear "Mellow Yellow" to do the penguins and bears using nail art brushes and dotting tools.  I then put a coat of China Glaze "Fairy Dust" on top of those and a Melly Mix on the others.  I love the way these turned out and am really happy with them for my first try doing both of these and my bear doesn't look like a cat, so, that is good, LOL :)  If you read my blog regularly you may remember my reindeer turning into reincats cuz' they ended up looking nothing like deer, LOL :)

Be Bright Back on it's own, this is a really pretty bright pink, I love it
Here's a slew of pics of the snow we got both during the snow and after when I had to start digging out, ugh :)

See that insanity, it sucked!!! So much snow, but, this week it's supposed to be in the 50's so that will melt a lot of this white madness away!!!!

That's it for now, I leave you with Dino playing with the snowflake boxes and the snowflake ornament when I was taking my nail pics, he's such a cool cat :)

Random Nails Spam

Hello friends,

Hope you are all having a good week.  Mine is just okay.  I am really just so sad this week with Dad dying, sigh.  It's going to take time and I don't think I'll ever really get used to him being gone, it just sucks on so many levels.  It's so weird without him.  Mom is hanging in there, she's a rock.  I don't have a whole lot to say today.  I do have my nails to post that I did for Dad for his memorial that I hope to get up maybe tomorrow night or the weekend along with what I wrote and said at the memorial.  It was a nice memorial and so many people came and for that I was very proud to be my Dad's daughter.  I'll write more about that in my post for Dad I do.  The following manis are ones I've done recently and haven't posted.  There's some stamping, glittter, saran wrap, a dotticure and a brush swirl.  I hope you enjoy them. Here you go:

Here I used a base of Orly "Key Lime Twist" and stamped with Sinful Colors "Black Out" using Winstonia Plate # W203 and then put one coat of China Glaze "Fairy Dust" on top of the stamps and a coat of Ozotic "Beam 908" on the other nails. I like this image and next time I use it, it will be crisper and clearer.  I am definitely learning that stamping does indeed take practice, but, I am loving stamping so much :)

Key Lime Twist on it's own.  I love, love this bright neon :)
Here I did a dotticure using Essie "Blossom Dandy" as my base and Essie "Peach Side Babe", Essie "Make Some Noise", Essie "Melody Maker" and China Glaze "Escaping Reality" for the dots, then I put one coat of a Melly Mix on top of all nails.

Blossom Dandy by itself.
I did some stamping for these nails using Essie "Make Some Noise" as a base and accents of a Claire's glitter no name and then stamped using Born Pretty Plate 610 and Konad white stamping polish.  I then put a coat of Indigo Bananas "SF 35 Holo Top Coat" on non-accent nails.

Make Some Noise on it's own.
OPI "Pink Friday" is my base here and a brush swirl using OPI "Can't Find My Czechbook", OPI "A Grape Fit" and China Glaze "Boho Blues" on my accents, then a coat of China Glaze "Fairy Dust" on top and a coat of then a coat of NYC Sparkle Top Coat (unsure of name, label is off) on top of the rest of my nails.

Pink Friday by itself.  I love this shade of pretty pastel pink.
My base here is China Glaze "Tart-y For the Party" then I used OPI "Super Cute In Pink" and OPI "My Pal Joey" to create the saran wrap nails.  I did these by putting random drops of both polish on my nails, then took a piece of crumpled up saran wrap and dabbed the polish drops to create this look. I then stamped using Winstonia plates W208, W117 and W217 and Sinful Colors "Snow Me White" to stamp with.  Then I used a coat of China Glaze "Fairy Dust" on top of my stamped nails and a coat of Indigo Bananas "SF 35 Holo Top Coat" on the rest.

There you have my kitchen sink of some random nails, enjoy the rest of your Thursday and I'll talk to you all soon.

Give Me Glitter!

Hey friends,

I hope you are all well.  I am not so okay.  My Dad died a week ago on January 6th at home.  He was in the hospital and went home that Monday before and that Tuesday night into Wednesday morning he passed peacefully in his bed.  Our family and friends were expecting it as he'd been sick with cancer for the last year which I have written about here on my blog at other times, but, we all and my Dad all thought we had a bit more time.  He went down really fast in the hospital.  His memorial service is tomorrow and that's going to be a really difficult emotional day.  I still can't believe my Daddy is gone, this sucks and life will never be the same again.  I miss him so much already, sigh.

I don't really have much to say tonight, so I'll just spam you a bunch of glitter manis I've done that I've been saving up for a glitter post.  I did do some huntin' orange nails as a tribute to my Dad for tomorrow and will get them up maybe tomorrow or the next day.  I am going to be going to a Post Post New Year's Eve party tomorrow night that some good friends are having which will be a way to say goodbye to this crappy real year so far and start a new year, it's what my Dad would have wanted and it's going to be good for me to be around good friends and people that love me during this sucky and sad time for me.

I used a base of China Glaze "Mix & Mingle" here with accents of LA Girl Color "Extra! Extra!" and a coat of Sally Hansen "Sparkling Jewel" on the rest. I've said it before and I say it again, I absolutely LOVE white glitter and can't get enough of it ever :)

Mix & Mingle on it's own, it's purple and so I love it :)
Here I used a base of Essie "Virgin Snow" with accents of Polish Me Silly "Mr. Bubble" and a Melly Mix on the rest. Mr. Bubble is quite the pretty glitter, I dig it.

Virgin Snow by itself, this is a really nice light purple, I just love purples so much.
For these I did a base of China Glaze "Shocking Pink" with glitter accents of Funky Fingers "Alex's Lemonade" and a coat of Sally Hansen Extreme Wear "Sparkling Rose" on the rest.

Shocking Pink on it's own.  This is one of my very favorite pink neons, it's so pink and bright and neon in your face.  I love it.
Here I used a base of OPI "Dating A Royal" with Wet 'n Wild Mega Rocks "Winterful Life" on my accents and a coat of Indigo Bananas "SF 35 Top Coat" on the rest.

Dating A Royal, a true royal blue, it's a staple in my collection of blues for sure
That's it, I'll talk to you all soon.  Please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers during this hard time.  I'd appreciate it.

Here's my Dad, nephew, Jared, and me at a family kid's b-day party many a moons ago.  Boy, how I miss my Dad, he was a wonderful man and a great Dad. It's so weird him not being around, it sucks. I love you Daddy so much!

Melly
