Holy Huntin' Holiday 2022

Happy Caturday loves!!!

Today in Pennsylvania marks a very special day for deer hunters. It's opening day of deer rifle season. It is a huge thing here! I do not hunt but my dad was a big hunter and my brother Dave and boyfriend Casey hunts. I also have plenty of other hunters in my life so I enjoy doing huntin' nails for them.

Each year I dedicate my deer season nails to my dad and for all the mighty hunters in my life. I think this year's came out awesome. They are my favorite to date.

My bases are Holo Taco Highest Bidder (silver gray) and LynBDesigns Renoir Or Not, Here I Come (flakie). I used Mundo de Unas Great Oudoors 2, Beauty Big Bang Silhouette XL-002 and some no name plates with different stamping polishes.

There you have my nails for deer season. I love these. I also put my tree up. It is so easy. All I do is take it out of a five gallon bucket I store it in, put fresh batteries in the lights and I am done. It's small and I love it 🙂

Holy Huntin' Holiday 2021

Happy Sunday loves 💘

I hope you are well and had a great turkey day. Mine was nice. We were at Casey's parents.

Yesterday in Pennsylvania deer hunting rifle season began. In our area it is a huge deal. There are so many hunters that I know in my life. My dad was a big hunter. My brother, boyfriend, his dad, my cousin, boss and numerous friends all hunt. I do not hunt, never have, but we do need hunting seasons to keep the population numbers at manageable levels. I do enjoy eating deer meat also. I think it is good.

It had been a few years since I have done hunting or huntin' as is heard all over around here, there ain't no "g" at end, ha ha ha, nails. I decided it was time again to do some.

So, these are for all the hunters I know and they are dedicated to my daddy. I always dedicate my huntin' nails to my dad when I do them. I am absolutely in love with how these turned out. They are good 😊

My bases are Polished For Days Persimmon (orange) and Enchanted Polish Countryside (green). I stamped using Winstonia Hunter's Life, ZZForest 1, Lina Get Wild 01 and Clear Jelly Stamper C-29 plates with different brands of stamping polishes.

Here are some pics my brother had of Dad out one year being a mighty hunter and one of him and the deer he got one year. Not sure of the year(s). I love these! His orange hat is my hat now ❤. I miss my dad, sigh.

Have a great Sunday!! I'll be back sometime this week with the first of my Christmas nails. Talk soon!

Holy Huntin' Holiday

Happy Sunday Friends,

It's rainy and cold here today, blah... I am ready for Spring already, lol. I hate Winter and the cold, boo. Oh well! Only 4 more months of this, ha...blah! Yesterday I went to the dog school that my mom belongs to for a puppy graduation. A few weeks back I had gone with her and met the sweetest lady with a Corgi puppy that I fell so in love with. If I were to get a dog I would totally get a Corgi and would be one of those people that dressed it up all the time ha ha, but, alas I live in the city in an apartment with 6 cats so no dogs for me at this point in my life anyways. So, I do go with Mom sometimes and yesterday was really fun. I got to do a running game with Tanner the Corgi since his mom Barb had her knee replaced and getting to participate with him was really a lot of fun :) I had also made Barb a Corgi painted rock and she loved it, said it was really special to her so that was really nice too.

Then after that my cousins came to visit with their kids and that was nice hanging out with them and I got to hang out with the animals so it was a good day :)

Yesterday also started deer hunting season in Pennsylvania and I grew up in a very hunting oriented family so this was and is still a pretty big deal with a lot of people in my family and friends. Many years ago my good friend Niki and I dubbed it the "Holy Huntin' Holiday" and it's stuck with us as a nickname for it ever since, ha. Casey, my boyfriend shot a nice big 8 point buck at 6:57 AM that morning so he did really good for opening day. Deer season goes for two weeks yet. My dad was a big hunting guy and so for this year again my huntin' nails are dedicated to my Dad and for all the hunters in my life out being mighty hunters the next couple of week. I don't like much game meat but I do like deer meat and look forward to having some fresh meat for dinner tonight.

I did a base of China Glaze "Westside Warrior".  then sponged China Glaze "Give Me 'Smore" and Sally Hansen X-treme Wear "Bare It All" on my nails to stamp and stamped using a black no name pumpkin bottle polish that stamps really well with Clear Jelly Stamper "Adventure Begins" plate and Winstonia "Hunters Life" plate for the camo nails. I stamped the deer using China Glaze "Poetic" with Born Pretty Store "BP-35" plate. The glitter on my pinkies and index nails is China Glaze "Something's Brewing". I love how the camo turned out on these.

Westside Warrior on it's own. This is a pretty shade of green I think.
Here's a pic of the deer Casey got and Casey, it was a big deer.
Here is Tanner the sweet sweet Corgi. Isn't he just the cutest thing?

Me and Tanner :)
Here is the rock I painted for Barb. I think it's adorable. I had such a hard time with the head though but think it turned out good in the end :)
Here is my baby cousin Cora and me :) She's so cute.
Here's the new cat that my Mom and sister Tina adopted a couple weeks ago that desperately needed a home. He's so awesome and so sweet. We named him Scoot Too since he reminds us so much of our old Scoot cat we had :) I plan on doing nails for Scoot Too soon!
Here's is mom's dog Duke in the holiday spirit :)
Here I am spoiling my horse Dusty Bucks with treats. I love this horse so much!
That's it for today, have a great rest of the weekend. I leave you with Miss Betty, Mr. Kitty and King Dino all doing what cats do best....sleeping, ha ha :)

Holy Huntin' Holiday

Happy Monday!

Hello friends.  Hope today finds you well.  Today was a really hard day, first day back to work after afour days off and a Monday to boot!  It was rough, well, not really, lol.  I hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving if you celebrate and had a good weekend.  My turkey day was really nice.  We went to Casey's parents house, then my sister came in for our weekly Walking Dead night.

Then Friday and the weekend I pretty much had lazy days since I had already gotten my cleaning all done on Wednesday night and Thursday morning and it was nice. I needed a few lazy movie days with the cats and Casey since the last few weekends had been pretty busy for me.

Today in Pennsylvania marks a pretty big day for deer hunters.  It's opening day of rifle season, or the Holy Huntin' Holiday (as I call it) and around here it is a HUGE day for mighty hunters.  I grew up in a big huntin' (note there never a "g" on the end of huntin') family and have many hunters in my life whether family or friends. My Dad was an avid hunter and he never missed opening day of deer.  My brother is also a big hunter as is my boyfriend, Casey.  I never hunted, never wanted to, but do respect and support responsible hunters that hunt for the meat to eat, that is what my family always did and Casey does as well.  I do like deer meat a lot, it tastes good and is actually better for you than beef is.

So, of course for today I have some deer season nails.  I first did some deer season nails in Fall of 2015, the last year my Dad was still alive, and have done deer season nails since.  The last two years I dedicated my nails to Dad and this year again they are dedicated to him.  Every year they will be dedicated to Dad and for the current hunters in my life.  So, without further ado, here are my opening day of deer season huntin' nails.  These were super simple this year.  I really do like the simpleness of them this year.

My base is China Glaze "Exotic Encounters".  I stamped using Born Pretty "BP-35", Winstonia "Hunter's Life" and Born Pretty "BP-L011" plates and China Glaze "Poetic".  I then used a nail brush and China Glaze "Delight" to accent the stamped nails.  The glitter is a no name one I got at a local beauty supply store.

Exotic Encounters on it's own.
There you have my Holy Huntin' Holiday nails for this year.  I like them, simple and cute I think.

Here's a picture of Casey with the first deer he ever shot.  This pic is on our refrigerator so I decided it would be fun to take a picture of it for my post today.

Have a great rest of the night.  I'll talk at you all soon.  I leave you with Miss Betty shutting her eyes one day cuz' she knows what that flash is all about by now, lol :)

Holy Huntin' Holiday

Happy Monday,

Hope you are well and that today is treating you well.  Mine is okay for a Monday.  Today is opening day of deer rifle season in Pennsylvania and this is a seriously special day for hunters in this state. They get so damn excited that deer season and deer camp time is here, it's cute and funny. Every year my Dad, brother and Dad's buddies would all be out for this big day of huntin' or as I call it, "Holy Huntin' Holiday".  My boyfriend, Casey, is out with his family hunting today also, so, maybe we'll be having some fresh deer meat for dinner later on.  I think my brother, Dave, and my Dad's last man best friend still alive, were going out too. Three of the guys here at work are off for hunting today and numerous other folks I know are out too.  Casey is off work to hunt thru Wednesday of this week yet.  Every year my Dad would go up to Potter County, PA and the bus hunting this week.  It was the thing he most looked forward to all year, he loved it.

The last couple of years I did some deer season inspired nails and dedicated them to Dad. Well, this year is not going to be any different even with him being dead now and not here.  They are still dedicated to Dad and will be forever more when I do my huntin' nails.  So here's my openin' day of deer nails dedicated to Dad, but, also for all the other hunters I have in my life :)  Hope you enjoy them. I dig them and do hope to have some fresh deer meat to eat this week :)

My base here is OPI "Is Mai Tai Crooked?", then I used eye shadow applicators and sponged on China Glaze "Community", OPI "Don't Mess with Texas" and OPI "Suzi, The First Lady of Nails" on the nails I then stamped on using Sinful Colors "Black on Black" for the camo stamp with Winstonia "Hunter's Life" plate and the deer are Born Pretty plate "BP-LO11" and Bundle Monster plate "Work It BM-XL178" stamped with Essie "Penny Talk" for the deer stamps. I then put a coat of China Glaze "Fairy Dust" on top of the stamped nails.  The glitter accent on my index finger nails is Funky Fingers "Glitter Matters" and on my pinky nails is Color Club "Go Go Green".

Is Mai Tai Crooked? on it's own.
There you have my openin' day of deer nails for this year.  Good luck and be safe out there if you go hunting yourself.  It is kind of a sad day today knowing how much this day meant to Dad and him being gone, sigh.  But, I know he'd appreciate my silly little dedication to him and for something he enjoyed doing so much.

Your feel good for today, this one is silly fun:

"You can't make everybody happy. You aren't a jar of Nutella."

Enjoy the rest of your night and I'll talk to you soon.. I'll leave you Miss Betty trying to push Buster out of her way on the couch :) She's funny, she will get up and just boot him out of where she wants, but, these two are really good friends and sweet to each other.  Their facial expressions in this are funny I think :)

Holy Huntin' Holiday Nails!

Happy Monday!!!

It's Monday, uh....and here in the state of Pennsylvania it's also the Holy Huntin' Holiday as I call it or opening day of deer rifle season and if you are familiar at all with PA, then you would know that huntin' (please note that there is NO "g" at the end of huntin' either, ever) season is a really big deal here, so big in fact that schools are closed today too and it's been that way ever since I was a kid in school and continues to be today. I grew up in a huntin' family myself, but, I have never hunted, however I do fully support anyone that does hunt and does so responsibly and also eats the meat from the game they kill.  If you simply kill for sport you suck a thousand times over and I have no respect for you.  Thankfully all the hunters I know eat the deer they kill and I eat deer too even tho' I don't kill them myself, deer meat is pretty tasty.  My Dad always went, but, sadly, now his health issues keep him from going and that makes me sad for him, so, once again, this year these nails are for my Dad and they are also for my boyfriend, Casey, who is also out there being a mighty hunter today.

For these nails I started with a base of Sally Hansen Salon Manicure "Coral Fever", then stamped the deer and guns with Milani "Enchanting" and Revlon Perfumerie "Chocolate Truffle" and images from Winstonia's "Hunter's Life" stamping plate and Born Pretty Store's plate "L011".  I sponged the camo nail using Sally Hansen Extreme Wear "Green Thumb", Maybelline Color Show "Better In Buff" and Rimmel Salon Pro "Beige Bare", then put one coat of Revlon "Pink Glaze on top of all my nails.  I love these nails so much and am happy with my stamping placement on this mani, it's getting better, yay.  I love these, hope you do too :)

Here's my deer nail and a deer lighter of Casey's.  This was a fun prop to use for these.
Born Pretty Plate, I used the deer in the upper left hand corner.
Winstonia plate, I love this plate and will for sure be using this one again fishin' season :)
Coral Fever on it's own.
That's it for now, have a great Monday all and I'll talk to you soon and if you are in the woods today huntin', good luck and be safe my mighty hunter friends.

I leave you with, but, of course, kitties :)
My black beauties all in one spot, Dino, Pebbles and Betty.  I love Betty stretching in this one, she's so stinking cute :)
Buster and Mr. Kitty

Happy Holy Huntin' Holiday!!!!!!!!
