Wacky Watermelons!!!

Happy Wednesday My Loves,

We've made it to the middle of the week, yay :)  Hope your week is going well.  Mine is okay.  The heat and humidity broke the last few days and the weather has been just super glorious out.  I've been enjoying sitting outside in the evenings this week.  But, the heat and humidity is supposed to come back with a vengeance later today and thru at least the weekend again, so, ugh on that, but, hey, it could be brutal cold and snow, so, I'll deal, lol ;)

Today on this fine Wednesday I've got some wacky watermelons that I did this past Sunday.  I dig how these came out, they are cute and definitely making me want some watermelon.  I love watermelon in the Summer, it's just well, so summery :) Hope you like them.

I used a base of Essie "Absolutely Shore", then did the watermelons with a nail art brush and dotting tool using the following polishes: Essie "Mojito Madness", Essie "Double Breasted Jacket", OPI "Alpine Snow", Wet 'n Wild "Do Pass Go" and Sally Hansen Extreme Wear "Black Out".  Then I put a coat of China Glaze "Fairy Dust" on top of the watermelon nails.  The glitter accent is Pretty Woman "Light Green" and one coat of Pacifica "Rainbow Gloss Top Coat" on my thumb to finish.

Absolutely Shore on it's own, this is an oldie, but, goodie light green.
That's it for today kidz!!! I do have a nail spam post to get up soon with several different manis and am doing my nails tonight, not sure what I'm doing just yet tho'.  Have a great rest of "hump day" and I'll chat at you soon.

I leave you with Buster and Miss Betty.  It's cute, Buster will try to meander his way in on the couch and Betty refuses to move so this is what we end up with, isn't it funny :)

See how thrilled Miss Betty is with him, her face is funny in this one!!!

Black Cat Love!!!!

Happy Black Cat Appreciation Day!!!!

Hello my friends!  Today is a very special day, it's my favorite holiday of the year.  It's Black Cat Appreciation Day, yay!!  Black cat app. day started as an online social media event on Facebook  in August 2011 to bring awareness to the world about the joy of living with a black cat, to dispel myths about black cats and to help black cats across the globe get out of shelters alive and into good and loving homes. I remember being a part of that Facebook event many years ago and have celebrated it every year since and it's become my favorite day of the year now for sure with my special love for black cats.

Ever since I was a little girl, I've loved cats, but, always found myself drawn to the solid black ones the most.  The solid blacks I've had in my life as an adult have been Fred, Barney and Bam Bam. They have all gone to Rainbow Bridge and are waiting for Mom there.  I miss them every day, they were really good cats.  The current black beauties I have in my life are Miss Betty, Pebbles and Dino.  My black cats have been and are just the best. I love them so much.  Notice my Flintstone name theme I have for my black cats :)  The next male black that comes into my life will be Mr. Slate and the next girl will be Wilma :) And, the names that have been for all my black kitties has so fit them each purrfectly :)

As I've always loved black cats, I've never understood the silly superstition of them being bad luck and evil and all that other nonsense you will hear about them.  I think they are the best kitties ever and will always have a solid black cat or 3 or 80 in my life, lol :)  My dream in life would be to start a no kill black cat rescue/sanctuary.  I'd love to be surrounded by and taking care of many blacks cats every day, so, maybe one day Casey will win that lottery and I could finally do that :)

So, if you are a cat person and/or maybe someone that's been thinking of adopting a kitty of your own, please consider adding a solid black cat to your life.  Black cats rock and I love them so much :)
Please always adopt and please spay and neuter too :)
Here's some fun and true reasons to adopt a black cat :) I love this list, it's cute :)

And, now, onto the for the love of black cats, yay :) My base is Orly "Gumdrop" and the glitter is an unknown beauty supply glitter.  I used some cat decals and then put China Glaze "Fairy Dust" on top of the decaled nails. These were easy to do with using decals and I love these, they are so cute, so fun and so full of black cat LOVE :) I love them!

Posing my black cat nails with Miss Betty who was on the couch beside me all night last night.  I heart this little one so so so much!
Gumdrop by itself, it's pretty.  I've had this one for quite a few years now.
Here's a fun pic of a black cat "doing" it's nails, I love this, it's been going around the interwebs for a long ass time now and it just never gets old, at least for me :)

Here's a sexy guy with a black cat.  You may or you may not know who Norman Reedus is, he's Daryl "Yummy" Dixon on Walking Dead, was in  Boondock Saints (love those movies) and tons of other stuff and he's damn hot too, I definitely "fan girl" for him, lol.  He has a black cat that he rescued from the streets of New York City for his son and loves his cat, it's named Eyes In The Dark and he's such a handsome boy, look at him, hot guy and handsome cat, I'll take it :)

Then, there's my very own sexy guy in real life with a black cat and dressed as a black cat for a party we went to last year.  Here is Casey with Princess Pebbles.  I love this picture so much :)

Here's Miss Betty and Mommy being a black cat too the night of the party :) She's so thrilled to be in this as you can see :)

Here's Fred, Barney and Bam Bam.  Fred and Barney were brothers, Barney was my heart, Fred was a cool quirky cat and Bam Bam was just straight up a cool cat.  I miss them.

Here is the current crew of blacks, Miss Betty, Dino and Pebbles.  I LOVE black cats so much, they rock!!!!

Betty and Dino
Pebbles being so dang cute!
So, if you have a black cat in your life make sure to give even more love today and hug a black cat today.  I know I sure will with all three of mine :)

Have a great day! I'll talk to you soon and Happy Black Cat Day!

Pebbles, Dino & Betty.  I love this picture so much of the three of them.  It makes my heart happy :)

Partyin' Pineapples!!!!

Happy Monday,

It's Mondaaaaayyyyyy......but we can't complain.  We have another day and that should make you happy, it does me and life is good :)

Today I have some seriously partying PINEAPPLES on my nails.  Wow, pineapples were more difficult for me to do than I imagined in my head, lol :) These were tricky, but, in the end I did really like them.  They are cute partyin' pineapples for sure, at least I think so :)  Hope you enjoy them like I did :)

My base was Color Club "Disco's Not Dead", then I used a nail art brush to paint the pineapples on with OPI "Need Sunglasses?", OPI "Don't Mess With OPI" and China Glaze "Mahogany Magic". I put a coat of China Glaze "Fairy Dust" on top of the pineapple nails and a coat of Sally Hansen Diamond Strength "Aisle Be There" on my thumb and pinky.  The glitter is Finger Paints "Glisten Here".

Disco's Not Dead by itself.  I flippin' love this yellow. It's awesome for summer :)
That's it for today, it's Mondaaaaayyyyyyy and I don't have much motivation tonight so relaxing it is the rest of the night after I get my chores done and cuddling the kitties, but, mostly Miss Betty.  She's the one that loves to be cuddled, coddled and smothered with kisses, so, she does have a tendency to get the most loves, well, and Miss Betty is my heart :)

Here's Dino, Miss Betty and Mr. Kitty being lazy kitties one day.  As you can see, sometimes Casey and I really have no place to sit on the couch.  We need a way bigger couch soon :) We've talked about getting a new one soon cuz' of the cats, lol.  Oh, those crazy cat people :)

Have a great rest of the night and I'll chat at you soon, soon :)

Whimsical Caturday Cats

Happy Caturday loves,

How are you on this fine Caturday?  Good I hope :) I am good, but, so hot.  We are in the middle of a seriously severe heat wave and it's brutal out there and no end in sight for many days yet, gah.  The temps are feeling like 105 or so with the heat index, ugh.  We have two air conditioners going in the apartment, but, they are both having a hard time keeping it cool since it's so miserable outside.  I normally love Summer weather, but, this year has been so hot and muggy that I am more than ready this year for pumpkin spice ALL the things season to kick in.  I'm ready to be wearing hoodies and jammy pants or jeans now with this madness, but, I still don't want Winter, lol :)

I was really looking forward to this weekend too since it's the first in the last three that we haven't gone anywhere, we were up camping at the bus two weekends ago and last weekend we were at our backyard camping event with our Burning Man regional event camp at our friends so, Casey and I were both looking forward to a weekend of just being home and it's been nice.  I've been doing some cleaning and straightening up stuff all day today and watching a mini Better Call Saul marathon and now watching the 4th Sharknado movie.  Casey and I love these silly movies more than we should and have decided that they need to come to live in our movie collection in the form of DVD's soon, LOL.  It's so goofy, but, so goofy good cheesy and Ian Ziering is in it and that makes me happy since I was/am a total Beverly Hills 90210 junkie and he was in it the the series the entire time it ran as Steve Sanders and who didn't love Steve Sanders :)

Today I have some kitty nails for you for my Crazy Cat Lady Caturday nail series.  Hope you enjoy them :)

For these, I started with a base here of Funky Fingers "Mellow Mood" which is a thermal color changing polish that changes color in warm and cool and it was so, so cool.  I loved seeing my nails go two different shades when I had this on.  I did get three other thermal polishes too when I got this and this was the first one I ever used and I loved it so much and can't wait to use the others I got.  It was cool!!! I got these thermal polishes at Five Below store. Then I painted OPI "Alpine Snow", OPI "Suzi Shops & Island Hops" and OPI "Kiss Me On My Tulips" onto a makeup wedge sponge and sponged those colors onto the stamped nails. A little tip for the makeup wedges, wet them first before you put the polish on, it works way better that way.  Then I stamped using Konad Black and Messy Mansion plate MM50 and Bundle Monster plate BM-S162, then a coat of China Glaze "Fairy Dust" on top of the stamped nails.  The glitter is Funky Fingers "The Notebook".  I then put a coat of a "Melly Mix" on the other two nails to finish. I liked these nails, they were very whimsical cats for sure.

Here's my sponged nails prior to stamping them.  They are really pretty looking I think :)

Mellow Mood by itself, it goes to both the shades here with the temps.  You can see the shade is different on my thumb nail from the rest.
That's it for today.  I think that I am going to do my nails tonight.  Going to do some splatter nails and maybe some stamping or I may just wait till tomorrow morning when I get up since it's so dang hot right now.  Stay cool wherever you are, drink PLENTY of water and stay safe in this heat we are having.  I leave with pretty Prince Pebbles.  She's such a diva kitty :)  Talk to you soon my loves :)

Summertime Strawberries

Happy Monday Love Bugs,

Hope you are all having a nice Monday.  Mine was okay, uneventful and not too shabby for a Monday, yay :)  Haven't posted in a couple of weeks.  I've been pretty busy and the last two weekends we weren't home.  Two weekends ago Casey and I went to my Dad's camp, or the bus, in Potter County, PA and we had a nice time, didn't have to go anywhere that weekend like we did on July 4th weekend, so, we got some maintenance and organizing done to the bus while we were there.  I was still feeling sad at times, but, I also really enjoyed our time at the bus and that's what Dad wanted us to do, enjoy the bus and we did.  I know my Dad would be happy that we are using it and enjoying it since he was so proud of it. Then this weekend, we went to our friends, Amy and Jim's, for a camping weekend in their backyard with camp mates from our Burning Man regional camp and it was really nice to see our camp mates.  I miss them when we don't see them.  They are all really good people.  It was a fun weekend, but, boy, are Casey and I looking forward to a weekend home this coming weekend since the last two were busy, but, so worth it :)

Tonight for you I have my first attempt ever at some strawberry nails that I did a couple of weeks ago.  I've been doing pretty good with my Summer nail art this year and have several more in mind to do and some pineapples I did after the strawberries to post.  I'll try to get that post up in the next day or so or maybe even later on tonight to get my blog a bit caught up.  We shall see where my motivation takes me after I get this post done, LOL :) Anyways, onto me nails :)

I started with a base here of China Glaze "Hey Sailor" which is the BEST juicy looking red polish I think I may own to have done these nails with, such a perfect red base for the berries.  I then used a nail art brush and Chine Glaze "Def Defying", OPI "Jade Is The New Black" and Revlon Perfumerie "Chocolate Truffle" to paint the berries.  I put a coat of China Glaze "Fairy Dust" on top of the berry nails.  I did the glitter on my pointer nail with Wet 'n Wild "Rocking Rubies" and a Kleancolor green glitter (unsure of name since label is off the bottle).  Then I put a coat of a Melly Mix I made on my pinky and thumb nails and was done.  I really dig the way these came out and they make me hungry for some sweet and juicy strawberries now, lol.  Hope you like them too :)

Hey Sailor by itself.  This was the perfect red for these nails.  This polish is so juicy looking, perfect :)
There you have my juicy strawberry nails.  These were fun to do and to wear, yay!  I leave you with Mr. Kitty and Dino now.  Talk soon :)

Melly
