Ribbon Candy Nails

It's Caturday, ya'll, yay!!

Hello again my loverly bugs.  It's the weekend.  I don't have much planned this weekend.  Matt, the hubby, and I are going to my bestie's on Sunday.  I am getting a manicure table from Valerie that she is gifting me from when she had her salon business.  I can't wait for it.  Thank you so much Valerie, I love you!!

On to some ribbon candy nails.  I didn't originally have ribbon candy in my mind, that is what they reminded me of when I got done with them. I used a coat of Orly Bonder (adhesive base coat), two coats of China Glaze "White On White" with one coat of Stardust Polish "Holy Holo" on all but my thumb and ring accents.  The holo I couldn't really get to show up, it looks pretty in real life.  I used China Glaze "Hey Sailor" and OPI "Jade Is the New Black" for the stripes on my accents. I put a coat of China Glaze "Fairy Dust" on top of my accent nails, then finished all nails with a coat of Seche Vite Quick Dry.

Bonder, CG "White On White", CG "Hey Sailor", OPI "JITNB", CG "Fairy Dust", an Art Deco striper in silver that I didn't end up using
My brushes.  Drop a few drops on a plate or I have cardboard here and paint your stripes.  Clean the brushes with acetone when you are done.

Have a great Caturday all.  I am hoping to get another post up tomorrow of my next holiday cheer nails. Of course, here kitties, yay!

Old Fogie, Moldy Goldy & Nails, Yay!

Salutations my loves,

Hope a good week was had by all.  My week was okay, it's Winter and I am just blah, blurgh in the icky Winter season.  Tonight I cuddled with Betty kitty and watched The Hunger Games for the first time, good movie, I really liked it.  I had no idea when that movie came out what it was about until HG nail polish collections began to come out, LOL.

Earlier on Face Crack today I wrote this post and shared pics of my one and only pony, Moldy Goldy.  I would like to share this here on my blog as well.

My Post:

"You know, it's funny, when you are a kid, you are like an Arabian horse, you never stop going, in your 20's, so a Saddlebred, look at me, I purty, yay, in your 30's, you are a Quarter Hoss, you can go or you can slow, take your pick, now, in the 40 is the new Fogie, I feel like a big ole' cloppity clop, 2 mph, not in a big rush, Percheron (or Clyde, or Belgian, take your pick, I say a Perchie cuz' they are my fave of the heavies ).

Moral of the story, this old gray mare, she just ain't what she used to be, ain't what she used to be, oh, and....oh, my back hurts!!

And, for fun, here's my first and only pony I ever had, Goldy. She became Moldy Goldy as she aged. She was a typical bratty pony, but, she was a really good pony. I love her, old Moldy Goldy That's my sister, Tina, on right and me on the left with Goldy at my very first 4-H Fair ever and the only year I showed Goldy in 4-H. I was already outgrowed her here, just wasn't quite ready for a horse yet. I have so many happy and fun memories of my pony, Goldy ;) "

Goldy
I have two manis to show you today that I did last week. I am not going to list the polishes, just post the pics.  I'll be back tomorrow with some holiday ribbon candy nails that I did last night. I am going to keep doing 'Tis 'da Season nails thru the end of the year.  I am not really that into the holidays, but, am enjoying doing my nails! Here you be.

Glitter Nails :)
Brush Swirl Nails
For the brush swirl I used one of my nail art brushes.  I dropped a few drops on my dry base coat, then swirled with the brush.  I dig 'em.

That's all for now folks.  It's late and I want to try to sleep soon, that may not happen, usually one weekend night I have insomnia.  I do get stuff done tho' and I don't have to get up for work at least the next morning, I still don't sleep long then either.

As per usual I leave you with a kitty on this very early Caturday Mornin', it's 1:37 in the A EM here.  Here is Buster in the new bed Daddy brought home one day.  So far he's the only one using that bed.  Buster is a good boy, he's so freaking cute and he's got extra toes too.  I heart his toesies so much!

'Tis 'da Seeeeee..Sannnn......and Owwwww......My Back Hurts....

 Hola my loverlies,

Hope everyone is warm and toasty toasty, it's full blown Crotchety Curmudgeonry Cranky Cantankerous Son of a Buck Winter here now, insert Mr. Yuck face.  It's doing some freezing rain nonsense outside right now and is just icky, Mr. Yuck face again!!  I am so not a fan of the cold, I hate it.  Growing up with horses and having to deal with it every single day makes you not smitten with the season not one bit.  I right now am under my heated blanket on the couch with two purring fur ball kitties beside me, my boy, Buster and my girl, Betty.  We also have Dino and Pebbles, they are elsewhere on their own warm and toasty kitty beds.  We have cat beds of all sorts all over our apartment, they love their beds, spoiled rotten cats do indeed live here ;)

This week I had to take Monday home from work due to my arth-rittis in my back acting up.  I have three bulging disks and a tear in my ligament or whatever that is called in your back.  I had an epidural in both sides in the Fall and they helped for a while, but, now I am back to being in lots of pain, it's not easy gettin' old, this old gray mare, she just ain't what she used to be, ain't what she used to be, and , thank you all ya' darn horses in my life for contributing to my 'rittis.  I kid, I would not trade my horse life I've had for anything and I will accept the 'rittis and pain because horses really truly are a big part of what makes me ME.

I didn't have a chance to get my last two manis up yet, so, they will get done in a "Two-Fer" post in the next day or so.  Today's nails I did last night and finished tonight.  I had a green with red brush swirl accents that just didn't turn out the way I was hoping, but, I kept it on cuz' I was too tired to redo my nails.

I did have bottle shots,  but, then I used a different red and didn't really like how the swirl looked, so, I just said screw it, just gonna post my nails.  When I got home from work today I added one of the Revlons on my accent nails and it worked purr-fect, so, here is my first 'tis the season nails.  I love the combo.  I used Bonder as my base, a rubberized base coat, then 2 coats of Nuance "Prickly Pear", then a couple red Orlys that I dropped dots on my nails and swirled with a nail art brush, the red was too dark so I couldn't really see the swirls, then I used one coat of Revlon "Holographic Pearls" on all my non-accent nails then Poshe fast dry.  I then put one coat of Revlon "Graffiti Top Coat" then Poshe fast dry.  I love the way it turned out, glitter can ALWAYS make a not so feeling it to feeling it mani.  I love them.
Prickly Pear on it's own, I love this green

Revlon "Girly" on the left and "Graffiti Top Coat"
That's all for today.  I am hanging out with my bestie, Valerie, I love you Val, and the kitties.

Ahhhhhhhh.......life is good!

I leave you all with Miss Betty.  She's the new kitty and I love her so much, she's just a doll baby and she looks like a little teddy bear.  Some days I can't handle her cute, just look at that cute.  Black cats ROCK!!

Happy Sunday & Plastic Mesh Thing Nails

Hi my loves,

Hope you are all having a nice weekend,  I am, uneventful, which I am so okay with.  Did some things around the apartment all weekend.  I have Miss Betty cuddling beside me out here in the living room.  Today, I did my nails and plan on relaxing, catching up on American Horror Story "Freak Show", reading some nail blogs, reading my book and just chilling the rest of the day.  It's so cold out too, so, I am way okay with staying inside and being lazy today :)

These are nails I did Thursday night and used this little plastic mesh sponge thing that came in a Halloween makeup set for my nail art.  It made some cool art.  I like it.  I'll definitely use it again, glad I thought about keeping it for nail art instead of throwing it away.

I did my standard base of Orly Bonder (rubberized adhesive base coat), two coats of Snowman (no names) in Blurple, one coat of Ruby Kisses "Snow White" on all nails, but thumbs and ring fingers.  For my accent nails I used Sally Hansen "White On" and China Glaze "Be Bright Back".  I did the white first, I dropped a few drops on my plate, then dipped the mesh thing in the polish, then used that to dab first the white, then the pink on my nails.  I really like how they turned out with this, almost looks like a splatter. I put a coat of China Glaze "Fairy Dust" on top of my accents, then a coat of Poshe quick dry top coat.

Orly Bonder, Snowman in Blurple color, China Glaze "Be Bright Back", Sally Hansen "White On", Ruby Kisses "Snow White, Poshe Quick Dry

My plate I use for nail art.  There is the mesh thing along with lip chap for help with cleaning up, I put it around the skin on my nails to be sponged, then use the cotton applicators dipped in acetone (in the cap on plate) to clean up any polish that gets on the skin.  Lip chap makes clean up so easy.
Snowman Blurple Color (way more purple in real life)
That's all for today.  Have a great rest of the
weekend, stay warm.  I have two more manis to share with you all in the next day or so.  I may just lump them both in one post.

Where, oh, where do the weekends go and why does Monday have to come do dern early,
dern it!!

I leave you all with our solid gray extra toed
little brat fur kid, Buster.

Polish, Peace and Purrs,

Melly

Buster, isn't he a cutie, I love his face.  That's Betty, our newest furkid, in the back.

Happy Caturday Morning!

Hello my loves,

I hope you are all well.  I am good here.  It's the weekend, yay!  This past work week was a very long one, so, I am so happy the weekend is here.  I do love my job, this week was just a rough one.  I am looking forward to a nice night at home.

Today I have a dotticure mani I did using the OPI Clark & Kensington mini 3-pack of polishes that I got at the hardware store, yes, I did just say I got nail polish at the hardware store.   Clark and Kensington Paints teamed with OPI and now you can paint your walls with some of your favorite OPI nail polish colors in paint form, pretty cool.  Normally I don't really like mini polish bottles, but, this set I had to have cuz' who buys nail polish at a hardware store, LOL.  I have also been wanting OPI "My Vampire Is Buff" and now, thanks to this set of polish, I have it.  It's a really nice neutral.  The other two colors in the set are "I Can't Find My Czechbook" and "I Eat Mainly Lobster".  Anywhos, on to my nails.

I did my base of Orly Bonder (an adhesive base coat that helps your polish adhere better to your nails), then two coats of Avon Gel Finish "Very Berry" followed by one coat of OPI "Happy Anniversary" on all nails but my ring and thumb accent nails. I used the three polishes in the set to do dots on my accent nails with my dotting tools, then followed that up with a coat of China Glaze "Fairy Dust" on top of my accent nails.  A final coat on all nails of Seche Vite Quick Dry went on all nails.  I drop a few drops of polish on my plate and then dip my dotting tool in the polish, then, simply make dots on my nails of all three colors.  Wipe the dotting tool off between each color.  I love dotting tools, you can do a lot of different nail art with them and every polishaholic should have a set or two of dotting tools.

                                                                 Polishes Used:
Orly Bonder, Avon "Very Berry", OPI "Happy Anniversary", OPI "I Eat Mainly Lobster", OPI "Can't Find My Czechbook", OPI "My Vampire Is Buff", China Glaze "Fairy Dust", Seche Vite Quick Dry (I cut part of my pic off of the Seche)
                                                                 The OPI Mini Set

The plate I use and two of my dotting tools
Avon "Very Berry" on it's own.  This is a really pretty berry shade
That's it for now.  I do have another mani to post later on today.  I'll talk to you all then.
I leave you with your Caturday Morning kitty, Miss Betty all wrapped up and warm in a blanket, she loves being under blankets.  She's such a sweet kitty.

Isn't Betty's cute just entirely too much :)  We love her so much.

Talk to you all in a bit!

Holy Huntin' Holiday Nails & Happy Dead Day!!!

Hellllllll.....ooooooo......

My friends, Happy Walking Dead Day!  Tonight, sniffle, sniffle, is the mid season finale and it's gonna be a good one, I can't wait.  I have had the Season 5 marathon on since 2 PM, much to my hubby's "dismay" since we've seen each one at least two times, but, I just can't not have a WD marathon on when it's on, ya know, and, well, Norman Reedus, um, yeah, well, you know, nom..nom...Norman Reedus...nom....nom, need I say more ;)

We are also having friends over for our weekly potluck dinner of leftover Turkey Day yumminess and DJ friends DJ-ing. We call our weekly potluck Eats 'N Beats, it's a good time with great people.  I love our friends, yay.

Today is also the eve of the Holy Huntin' Holiday in PA, Openin' Day of Deer Season.  I grew up in a very responsible huntin' (please note that there is NEVER a "G" at the end of Huntin' ever, just don't do it EVER!!!) family, so, the Holy Huntin' Holiday is very special in my family.  I do not hunt, but, fully support responsible huntin', meaning that you eat what you shoot and do not shoot just to kill, that is wrong and no one in my huntin' family ever will do that or would ever do that.  My Daddy is a mighty hunter and has gotten many a buck over the years, no doe, he would never shoot doe cuz' you never know if one is "in fawn" or not and he just doesn't shoot the girls.  Sadly, due to some health issues that my Dad has going on with him getting older he will not be going out for deer this time and it saddens him and me greatly, so, today I dedicate my nails to the world's most wonderful Dad in the world, my mighty hunter Daddy, I love you so much and it pains me to see you have to sit this year out.  My nails for the Holy Huntin' Holiday are for you Daddy.

For my nails I started with a base of Orly Bonder (adhesive base coat), two coats of Orly "Melt Your Popsicle", then I did a spatter mani on my ring fingers to make my camo on top of the Huntin' Orange.  I used China Glaze "Happy Go Lucky", OPI "Don't Mess With OPI" and Rimmell Salon Pro "Beige Bare" for the splatter.  For my antlers (well, my antler trees, lol, they look more like trees, huh....huh...) Maybelline Color Show "Better In Buff", Maybelline Color Show "Neutral Statement" and Wet 'N Wild Megalast "Wet Cement".  I did the splatter using straws and used my nail art brushes to paint the antlers, then I put a coat of China Glaze "Fairy Dust" on top of all nails followed by a coat of Seche Vite Quick Dry top coat.  I like them, I need to work on my antlers fer' sure, but, overall, I dig it :)

Huntin' Orange Nails
                                                              Polishes Used
My plate for putting polish on for doing the art, my straw cut in half, my brushes, my lip chap for putting on around nails to be splattered (helps with cleanup) and cotton applicators for clean up, that's acetone in the cap to the right of the plate
Maybelline "Neutral Statement", Wet 'n Wild "Wet Cement", Maybelline "Neutral Statement", China Glaze "Fairy Dust", Maybelline "Taupe On Trend" (I ended up not using this, but, pulled it out in case I decided to use it)

Orly Bonder, Orly "Melt Your Popsicle:", Rimmel "Beige Bare", China Glaze "Happy Go Lucky", OPI "Don't Mess With OPI", Seche Vite Quick Dry
"Melt Your Popsicle" on it's own

"Do Me the Doe", our old shot up target shootin' deer that my Dad gave me that we decorated and started taking to our Burning Man regional event and which has provided us endless hours of entertainment.  She now lives in our back yard, she lived in front of the horse pasture at my parents for years before we got her.
And, there you have it, my Holy Huntin' Holiday nails.  I'll chat at you all very soon, have a great rest of the night.  I will with good friends and Walking Dead and Talking Dead, yay!

Norman Reedus and his black cat sexiness. His cat was a rescue cat also, so, that makes Mr. Reedus even more sexy in my book.   I sure do love a man with a Black Cat, it's sexy as hell :)
And, since we are on black cats, I leave you today with Pebbles, take note of Do Me The Doe in the back, hurh....hurh....
 Polish, Purrs and Braaaaaaiiiiiinnnnnnsssssssssssssssssssss.....damn WALKERS,

Glitter, Mommy & Daddy, Horses, Pup, & Kitties of course!

Happy Friday, yay!

Hope everyone is having a great Friday.  I worked today and did not go anywhere but to work and the bank.  I am so not one of those crazy Black Commodified Ugly Friday shoppers, shudder, I just couldn't do it.  Not for me at all.

Went to my parents for Turkey Day and I got to hang out with my sister, Tina, that lives with them, got to hang out and love on my horse, see all the cats, they have 6 I think and Harley, the Black Lab they have, she's a certified therapy dog and such a good girl.  She loves when Melly comes to visit.  All she wants me to do is throw her frisbie for her even when I am trying to hang out with my horse, Dusty, and my sister's horse, Dream.  I had a great time yesterday out at the house :)

Today I have some glitter accent nails to show you.  I did these last night when we got home.  I did my usual base of Orly Bonder (an adhesive base coat), two coats of China Glaze "At Vase Value" with one coat of Nuance "Moonflower" on all nails but my accent nails.  I put a Snowman Glitter on those, followed by a coat of Seche Vite quick dry top coat.  This snowman glitter is going to the craft pile tho', it has gold glitter in it and I just don't like gold, but, I will use it for the crafty stuff I do with nail polish. I always end up picking up a snowman or two every year at Rite Aid.  I can't help it, they are just too cute, those bottles.

                                                      Polishes Used:
Orly Bonder, China Glaze "At Vase Value", Nuance "Moonflower", Snowman Glitter, Seche Vite Quick Dry

At Vase Value on it's own
Here's a slew of pics from yesterday and you all get to meet my horse, Dusty Bucks, and my sister's horse Dream.  He's an Arabian horse.  He's a sweet horse too.
My Dusty Bucks, I love him so much.

I love my Mom and Dad so much, they really, truly are two very amazing people and I am so blessed to have them.  They are the BEST!!!

Here's Miss Princess Pebbles, she's a sweet kitty, but, boy, is she a princess and she's so gorgeous too.
The Princess, Pebbles!

That's all for today my love bugs.  I will talk at you all soon. My next mani is going to be some Holy Huntin' Holiday nails for Openin' Day of Buck this Monday!
