Holy Huntin' Holiday Nails & Happy Dead Day!!!

Hellllllll.....ooooooo......

My friends, Happy Walking Dead Day!  Tonight, sniffle, sniffle, is the mid season finale and it's gonna be a good one, I can't wait.  I have had the Season 5 marathon on since 2 PM, much to my hubby's "dismay" since we've seen each one at least two times, but, I just can't not have a WD marathon on when it's on, ya know, and, well, Norman Reedus, um, yeah, well, you know, nom..nom...Norman Reedus...nom....nom, need I say more ;)

We are also having friends over for our weekly potluck dinner of leftover Turkey Day yumminess and DJ friends DJ-ing. We call our weekly potluck Eats 'N Beats, it's a good time with great people.  I love our friends, yay.

Today is also the eve of the Holy Huntin' Holiday in PA, Openin' Day of Deer Season.  I grew up in a very responsible huntin' (please note that there is NEVER a "G" at the end of Huntin' ever, just don't do it EVER!!!) family, so, the Holy Huntin' Holiday is very special in my family.  I do not hunt, but, fully support responsible huntin', meaning that you eat what you shoot and do not shoot just to kill, that is wrong and no one in my huntin' family ever will do that or would ever do that.  My Daddy is a mighty hunter and has gotten many a buck over the years, no doe, he would never shoot doe cuz' you never know if one is "in fawn" or not and he just doesn't shoot the girls.  Sadly, due to some health issues that my Dad has going on with him getting older he will not be going out for deer this time and it saddens him and me greatly, so, today I dedicate my nails to the world's most wonderful Dad in the world, my mighty hunter Daddy, I love you so much and it pains me to see you have to sit this year out.  My nails for the Holy Huntin' Holiday are for you Daddy.

For my nails I started with a base of Orly Bonder (adhesive base coat), two coats of Orly "Melt Your Popsicle", then I did a spatter mani on my ring fingers to make my camo on top of the Huntin' Orange.  I used China Glaze "Happy Go Lucky", OPI "Don't Mess With OPI" and Rimmell Salon Pro "Beige Bare" for the splatter.  For my antlers (well, my antler trees, lol, they look more like trees, huh....huh...) Maybelline Color Show "Better In Buff", Maybelline Color Show "Neutral Statement" and Wet 'N Wild Megalast "Wet Cement".  I did the splatter using straws and used my nail art brushes to paint the antlers, then I put a coat of China Glaze "Fairy Dust" on top of all nails followed by a coat of Seche Vite Quick Dry top coat.  I like them, I need to work on my antlers fer' sure, but, overall, I dig it :)

Maybelline "Neutral Statement", Wet 'n Wild "Wet Cement", Maybelline "Neutral Statement", China Glaze "Fairy Dust", Maybelline "Taupe On Trend" (I ended up not using this, but, pulled it out in case I decided to use it)

"Do Me the Doe", our old shot up target shootin' deer that my Dad gave me that we decorated and started taking to our Burning Man regional event and which has provided us endless hours of entertainment.  She now lives in our back yard, she lived in front of the horse pasture at my parents for years before we got her.
And, there you have it, my Holy Huntin' Holiday nails.  I'll chat at you all very soon, have a great rest of the night.  I will with good friends and Walking Dead and Talking Dead, yay!

Norman Reedus and his black cat sexiness. His cat was a rescue cat also, so, that makes Mr. Reedus even more sexy in my book.   I sure do love a man with a Black Cat, it's sexy as hell :)
And, since we are on black cats, I leave you today with Pebbles, take note of Do Me The Doe in the back, hurh....hurh....

Glitter, Mommy & Daddy, Horses, Pup, & Kitties of course!

Happy Friday, yay!

Hope everyone is having a great Friday.  I worked today and did not go anywhere but to work and the bank.  I am so not one of those crazy Black Commodified Ugly Friday shoppers, shudder, I just couldn't do it.  Not for me at all.

Went to my parents for Turkey Day and I got to hang out with my sister, Tina, that lives with them, got to hang out and love on my horse, see all the cats, they have 6 I think and Harley, the Black Lab they have, she's a certified therapy dog and such a good girl.  She loves when Melly comes to visit.  All she wants me to do is throw her frisbie for her even when I am trying to hang out with my horse, Dusty, and my sister's horse, Dream.  I had a great time yesterday out at the house :)

Today I have some glitter accent nails to show you.  I did these last night when we got home.  I did my usual base of Orly Bonder (an adhesive base coat), two coats of China Glaze "At Vase Value" with one coat of Nuance "Moonflower" on all nails but my accent nails.  I put a Snowman Glitter on those, followed by a coat of Seche Vite quick dry top coat.  This snowman glitter is going to the craft pile tho', it has gold glitter in it and I just don't like gold, but, I will use it for the crafty stuff I do with nail polish. I always end up picking up a snowman or two every year at Rite Aid.  I can't help it, they are just too cute, those bottles.

Here's a slew of pics from yesterday and you all get to meet my horse, Dusty Bucks, and my sister's horse Dream.  He's an Arabian horse.  He's a sweet horse too.
My Dusty Bucks, I love him so much.

Here's Miss Princess Pebbles, she's a sweet kitty, but, boy, is she a princess and she's so gorgeous too.
The Princess, Pebbles!

That's all for today my love bugs.  I will talk at you all soon. My next mani is going to be some Holy Huntin' Holiday nails for Openin' Day of Buck this Monday!

Talkin' Turkey!

Gobble...Gobble....

Happy Turkey Day my friends.  I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving. I am thankful for so many things in my life EVERY day, not just today.  I am thankful for my awesome parents and family, my friends, my fur babies and the happy life we have.  I wish everyone could be as blessed as I am.  I am really excited to see my horse, Dusty Bucks, and my sister's horse, Dream, today when we go to my parents, yay for horsey loves, yay.  I love horses, we grew up with them, I used to show, I don't any longer, but, will always be a horse person.  The love of horses really truly is one that you are born with and you never ever stop being a horse person.  Horses definitely played a large role in shaping me into the person I am today.  Horses are such amazing creatures.  I am so blessed to have them in my life.  I'll have a couple pics of the boys from today for my next post so you can all meet the boys.  They are such good horses.  Now, onto some Talkin' Turkey nails!

For this mani, I started with my standard base of Orly Bonder (a rubberized adhesive base coat, it helps the polish adhere better and last longer too), then two coats on all nails of OPI "Where Did Suzi's Man-Go".  For the turkeys I dropped a few drops of Milani Color Statement "Enchanting" onto my plate and used one of my brushes to paint the outline and to fill in the turkey body on all of my accent nails.  Next, I did the feathers the same way with a brush using China Glaze "Sun Worshiper", OPI "Hot & Spicy", Maybelline Color Show "Better In Buff", Sally Hansen Extreme Wear "Mellow Yellow" and China Glaze "China Rouge" (I didn't get a pic of this one, I decided while doing the turkey that I wanted red in it as well).  I then did the beaks in China Glaze "China Rouge", next time I am going to use a lighter brown for the turkey body as my beak didn't show up too well.  After than I then used my black and white LA Colors Nail Art stripers for the eyes.  After my nails were dry, I then put a coat of Amour "Rainbow Hologram" on all nails followed by a coat of Seche Vite quick dry top coat.  The top coat did drag the turkey a little, it seems no matter how long I wait for my polish to dry, it will always smear a little when I do nail art, drat.  Oh well, just looks like the turkeys had a good night out last night boozin' it up and now have some blood shot eyes to show for it ;)

I use nail art brushes and clean the brush after each color with acetone.  I use an empty nail polish lid and pour acetone in that for cleaning my brushes between colors. It works great.

Orly Bonder, OPI "Where Did Suzi's Man-GO", China Glaze "Sun Worshiper", OPI "Hot & Spicy", Maybelline Color Show "Better In Buff", Milani Color Statement "Enchanting", Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear "Mellow Yellow", Amour "Rainbow Hologram", LA Colors Art Deco in Black and White

And, there you go, Talkin' Turkey nails.  I like them, they are cute I think and this was my first time doing turkeys.  They were fun to do.

I'll chatter at you all soon, soon, soon!!!  I leave you with some more pics of teddy bear kitty, Miss Betty.

Did Someone Say "GLITTAH!!!!"

Hello loves,

Happy Thanksgiving Eve.  I hope you are all well. My hubby, Matt, and I are going to my Mommy and Daddy's for turkey tomorrow and I also get to see and love my horse, yay.  My horse is an American Saddlebred gelding, he's a really good horse.  I love him so much.  I don't get to see him as much as I like and when I do go out he is always so happy to see me.  I am so grateful that I have my parents and sister to take care of him and make it possible for me to have a horse in my life still.  Thanks guys, I love you!!!

Anywhos, today, I have two glitter accent manis I did this week.  The first my standard base coat of Orly Bonder (an adhesive base coat) then two coats of OPI "Steady As She Rose" on all nails with a coat of Melly Mix (a mix I make of different shimmery top coats all mixed together) on top of all nails but my ring and thumb accent nails, on those I put a coat of Finger Paints "Tangled In Tinsel" (not feeling this glitter too much, so, to the nail polish to go and crafting pile it goes, I won't wear it on my nails again, but, I will definitely craft with it), then I put a coat of Seche Vite Quick Dry top coat.

Orly Bonder, OPI "Steady As She Rose", Melly Mix, Finger Paints "Tangled In Tinsel", Seche Vite Quick Dry

The next one I did a couple days ago.  I started with a base of Orly Bonder, then two coats of China Glaze "Tip Your Hat" on all nails with one coat of Loreal Magic Top Coat "The True Diamond" on all nails but my thumb and ring accent nails.  On my accent nails I did one coat of China Glaze "Chillin' With My Snow-mies" (this name just cracks me up, I love it), followed by a coat of Seche Vite Quick Dry top coat.

Splatter Nails & Mr. Beans

Howdy loves,

We made it thru Hump Day, yay!  Today I have some splatter nails that I did one day last week.  I love splatter nails, they are so cool and very easy to do.  I used a base of Orly Bonder (a rubberized base coat that helps polish adhere to the nails), then a base coat color of Essie "First Timer" on all nails then added a coat of Jesse's Girl "Fire Fly" on all nails except my  accent nails.  After I did my splatters, I did apply one coat of a shimmery "Melly Mix" (one I made throwing different polishes together) on all my accent nails. I did the splatters with China Glaze "Kiwi Cool-Ada", LA Colors "Mint" and OPI "Don't Mess With Texas".  You do a splatter  by taking a straw, regular drinking straw (I cut them in half to cut down on waste) or a coffee stirrer straw  and pick up one color of polish on the straw from drops on a plate or whatever you want to use, then hold the straw above the nail and blow on the straw to create the splatter effect.  I will kinda roll the straw in the polish drops to pick it up on the straw.  Repeat these steps for each color you choose to splatter with.  I used three polishes.  Prior to splattering the nails, use some lip chap to coat around the nail to make clean up much easier.  I use the makeup applicators dipped in acetone to clean up the polish on my fingers and cuticles when I am done splattering.  I finished off my mani with a coat of Seche Vite Quick Dry top coat.

Polishes Used

Essie "First Time", Jesse's Girl "Fire Fly", China Glaze "Kiwi Cool-Ada", OPI "Don't Mess With Texas", LA Colors "Mint' Melly Mix

My plate, straw (I use the same straw half for all the nails, I just wipe it off between colors), my lip chap I use for coating the skin around my nails to be splattered and the makeup applicators I use for clean up.  I pour some acetone in an empty lid from a bottle of nail polish remover and dip the applicator in that for clean up. Those lids work really great for using for clean up.

Here's another shot of my splatter.

                                                          First Timer on it's own.

And, there you go, another easy and fun mani to do!  I do have two other nail posts to get up yet, will do another post tonight and the other one tomorrow night.

I leave you all with Mr. Beans, the awesome Pit Bull that our one sales guy, Don, at work and his daughter, Holly, have.  This was one of the times Beans came to the office to visit.  He loves his visits to the office.  I am so in love with this dog, he's a doll baby, such a good dog and a WONDERFUL ambassador for the Pit Bull breed, truly the world's most misunderstood breed of dog.  I LOVE Pit Bulls and have many a Pit Bull friends.  They really are great dogs.

Mr. Beans visiting the office
Chitter chatter with you all very soon.

Cats, Cats, Cats!!!

Howdy my friends.  Does everyone know what today is?  Why, it's Walking Dead Day, yay!! I can't wait, it's going to be another good one. There's only 3 more episodes left this season.  Last night  I went to my good friends, Nick and Leah's, for a costume party, they have a party a couple weeks after Halloween cuz' we all like to dress up any day, yay.  I went as a Crazy Cat Lady.  It was so much fun being a crazy cat lady!!

So, of course, I did some cat nails for the party.  I used Bonder adhesive base coat then two coats of OPI "Done Out In Deco" with a top coat of KB Shimmer "Prism Break", which I love, love, love, it can turn any creme polish into a linear holo, I mean, just LOOK at that holo) on all nails except my accent nails (my thumbs and ring fingers).  I used nail decals on my accent nails, then did a top coat of INM "Northern Lights" and then a coat of Poshe Quick Dry top coat on all nails.  A trick for removing and placing decals on nails is to use a tweezers to get the decal off of the decal sheet, then use tweezers to place decal where you want it to be, then push down decals onto the nail.  I use a plastic cuticle pusher to push them down.

Look at that HOLO, I love it!!!

Orly "Bonder", OPI "Done Out In Deco", KB Shimmer "Prism Break", INM "Northern Lights", Seche Vite "Quick Dry"

Here's the decals I used.  They are cute.

And, here's Matt and me being crazy cat people.  I think this was one of my favorite costumes ever.

Until next time my friends, tootle loo, tootle doo, tootle dee, I love thee!!!

XOXO
